South Louisiana homes have their own character, and window needs can vary greatly from one property to the next. Older homes may have original trim and unique window details worth preserving, while newer properties often feature larger windows designed for open living spaces. We measure and build custom window shades for your exact windows so they complement your home rather than force a one-size-fits-all solution.

Whether you need blackout cellular shades to insulate a historic cottage in Breaux Bridge, or sleek, minimalist roller shades to tame the sun in a new-build farmhouse in Youngsville, we have the perfect solution. Choose from top-down/bottom-up functionality for ultimate privacy, or child-safe cordless options for growing families. Interested in smart home technology? We specialize in cutting-edge motorized shades that lower at the touch of a button.

Our Shade Collections

The right shade depends on what you want from the room. Some homeowners need better glare control, while others want more privacy or a softer decorative finish. Our collections include everything from fabric Roman shades to streamlined rollers, with options from trusted manufacturers including Hunter Douglas and Norman Window Fashions.

Roller Shades

Achieve a clean, minimalist aesthetic perfect for downtown Lafayette lofts or modern new-builds in Youngsville. Our custom roller shades offer sleek, versatile light control to instantly tame the afternoon glare.

Solar Shades

The ultimate defense against the Hub City sun. Block extreme heat and harmful UV rays to protect your hardwood floors and furniture, all while preserving your beautiful views of the backyard or bayou.

Cellular Shades

Also known as honeycomb shades, these are Acadiana’s top choice for energy efficiency. Their unique design traps heavy summer heat right at the window, helping slash your LUS or SLEMCO energy bills.

Woven Wood

Bring the natural beauty of South Louisiana indoors. Crafted from bamboo, grasses, and natural reeds, woven wood shades add organic texture and relaxed Southern charm to your sunrooms and living areas.

Roman Shades

Combine the soft, classic elegance of custom drapery with the easy functionality of a shade. Roman shades are perfect for framing the windows of historic properties in Breaux Bridge or classic French Creole homes.

Sheer Shades

Filter harsh natural sunlight into a soft, inviting glow. Sheer shades offer the precise light control of a blind with the elegance of fabric, perfect for bright, Acadian-style living rooms in Broussard.

Layered Shades

Often called zebra shades, these alternating sheer and solid fabric bands offer bold, modern light control. Easily shift from blocking the blazing midday Lafayette sun to letting in the beautiful evening golden hour glow.

Pleated Shades

A crisp, highly customizable option that doesn’t compromise on style. Pleated shades look brilliant on their own or layered with custom drapery for extra insulation during those surprisingly chilly Acadiana winter nights.

Choosing shades is easier when you can compare them in the room where they will actually be installed. During your in-home consultation, we bring samples directly to you so you can see how different fabrics look in your lighting. You can also compare textures and opacity before choosing.

Frequently Asked Questions About Window Shades

Choosing custom shades involves more than selecting a fabric color. Questions about installation and maintenance often come up once homeowners begin comparing products. Understanding these details can make it easier to narrow down your options.

How long does it take to receive custom shades after I order?

Most custom shades arrive several weeks after we finalize measurements and fabric selections. Since each shade is made for your specific windows, timelines vary by product and manufacturer. We’ll provide a realistic estimate during your consultation.

What’s the difference between an inside mount and an outside mount?

An inside mount places the shade within the window frame for a clean appearance. An outside mount attaches above or around the frame and can provide additional coverage. The best choice depends on your window depth and trim as well as the look you want to achieve.

Do custom shades come with a warranty?

Most manufacturers offer warranties that cover certain product defects and workmanship issues. Coverage varies by brand and collection. We’ll review the applicable warranty information before you make your final selection.

Can I still open a window with shades installed?

Yes. Most shades can be raised so you still have access to the window. During the measurement process, we can account for windows you open frequently and suggest an operating style that makes them easy to use.

How do I clean and maintain fabric shades over time?

Many fabric shades can be maintained with regular dusting or gentle vacuuming, depending on the material. Some fabrics may also allow light spot cleaning. Always follow the manufacturer’s care instructions, since cleaning requirements vary by material.
